How to choose materials for custom packaging box

In the whole process of packaging design development, paper packaging materials, as a common packaging material, are widely used in production and living practice. Paper material has low cost, suitable for mass mechanized production, good formability and folding, suitable for fine printing, and has the advantages of recycling, economic and environmental protection. So what kind of paper do we need to use in the printing process of boxes?

1. Kraft paper

It has high tensile strength, tear strength, rupture work and dynamic strength. Tough texture and low price, with good folding resistance, water resistance. Mostly web paper, but also flat paper. It can be divided into single light, double light, stripe, no stripe, etc., the color is white and yellow brown, mainly used in wrapping paper, envelopes, shopping bags, paper bags, cement bags, and also used in food packaging paper.

2. Coated art paper

Coated art paper is also known as printing coated paper. It is mainly made of wood, cotton fiber and other high-grade raw materials. Surface coating polishing treatment to increase smoothness and luster, divided into single-sided and double-sided two, paper and split-face and cloth two. Paper surface is smooth, high whiteness, ink absorption performance is very good, can reflect all colors in the spectrum and obtain the best effect, and scalability is small.

Not only that, it is also divided into Coated one side(C1S)  and Coated two side(C2S) with finishing. Commonly used grams are 80g, 105g, 115g, 128g, 157g, 180g, 200g, 250g, etc. Suitable for color printing, mainly used in offset printing, gravure fine cable prints, such as advanced picture albums, calendars, books and illustrations. After printing, the color is bright and the level changes are rich.

3. White cardboard paper

White cardboard paper is a kind of white and smooth front, the back is mostly gray cardboard, this kind of cardboard is mainly used for single-side color printing into a carton for packaging. Hard and thick texture, with good vertical strength, surface strength, folding resistance and printing adaptability, suitable for making packaging boxes, lining boards, handmade products, etc.

4. Corrugated paper

Corrugated paper has the advantages of light and strong, strong load and pressure resistance, shock-proof, moisture-proof, and low cost. Single-sided corrugated cardboard is generally used as a lining protective layer for commodity packaging or to make lightweight tagging and gasket to protect goods from vibration or collision during storage and transportation; Three or five layers of corrugated cardboard are used to make sales packaging for goods; Seven-layer or 11-layer corrugated cardboard is mainly used to make packing cases for mechanical and electrical products, furniture, motorcycles, large household appliances, etc. Corrugated paper can be divided into seven categories according to the corrugated type: A pit, B pit, C pit, D pit, E pit, F pit, G pit, of which A, B, C pit is generally used for outer packaging, D, E pit is generally used for small and medium-sized packaging.

5. Gold and silver cardboard
